Frequently Asked Questions
How can I help the people who are suffering in Yemen?
The best way to assist the Yemeni people right now is by sponsoring a food aid project (starting at $10,000 USD = 250 food baskets = 1,500 people eat for 30 days). The more funds we raise, the more people we can feed and, ultimately, save.
What percentage of my donation is spent on aid?
Yemen Aid is led by volunteers and every effort is made to reduce administrative expenses and to maximize aid. Last year, Yemen Aid spent approximately 2% on management and general, 8% on fundraising and 90% on programs.
I am from Yemen and I need help.
Yemen Aid implements humanitarian aid and medical projects when funding is available. Regrettably, at this time, we do not provide direct cash assistance to individuals. For a list of NGOs in your area that may be able to help you, please send us an e-mail including your address.
I am working on a research project on Yemen. Can you please provide me additional information?
We'd love to help you but all of our efforts are focused on providing emergency and disaster relief to the Yemeni people right now. We invite you to explore our website for additional information on the Yemeni crisis and how you can get involved. Thank you for understanding.
I am a member of the press/media. Are you available for an interview?
For media inquiries, please contact Summer Nasser, Yemen Aid's chairperson and spokesperson, at firstname.lastname@example.org and copy email@example.com at least 48 hours in advance. Thank you for raising awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
I would like to send an in-kind donation to Yemen.
Shipping to Yemen is time-consuming and expensive. For this reason, Yemen Aid only accepts 40 ft containers of in-kind donations - mostly unexpired medicines. Please note that it is quicker and cheaper to buy and distribute supplies locally (should you be interested in issuing a grant to Yemen Aid to do so).
I would like to invite a speaker from Yemen Aid to my event.
For speaking requests, please contact Summer Nasser, Yemen Aid's chairperson and spokesperson, at firstname.lastname@example.org and copy email@example.com at least 1 month in advance. Thank you for raising awareness and funds for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
I made a mistake. Can you please give me a refund?
We understand. Mistakes happen. However, we're only able to refund donations made via Yemen Aid's webiste/PayPal. If that's the case, please send a refund request, including your name and the date and amount of your donation, to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you made a donation to Yemen Aid via Facebook or another crowdfunding platform, kindly contact that company. Thank you for your support.
How can I work at Yemen Aid?
